It is said that the device will no longer receive any update, so for those who really wanted to experience the latest OS Android 5.0 Lollipop, here we brought the simple guide on how to Update MMX A116 Canvas HD to Android 5.0 Lollipop CM12 Custom ROM. So check the below quick pre-requisites and then will take you to update procedure.
Quick Pre-requisites:
- Make sure the battery level on your device is more than 70%.
- Flash a Custom Recovery and Root your device.
- Take backup of your entire device data.
- Take Nandroid backup (necessary if CWM or TWRP installed previously). Check here to take the backup.
- Enable USB Debugging on your device.

Steps to Install CyanogenMod 12:
Step 1: Connect your mobile with computer.
Step 2: Copy and paste the above downloaded files to root of your device SDcard.
Step 3: Now open Recovery mode. To open recovery mode, connect your device with PC > Open Command Prompt in Fastboot folder > Type ‘adb reboot bootloader’ > choose recovery. Click here to download ADB and Fastboot Tools.
Into the Recovery Procedure:
Step 4: Perform back-up of your ROM by heading to Back-up and Restore on Next screen, Choose Back-up option again.
Step 5: After performing the back-up process, head back to the Main Screen.
Step 6: Now navigate to ‘advance’ option and choose ‘Devlik Wipe Cache’ option.
Step 7: Navigate to ‘Install zip from SD card’ where another window pop-up.
Step 8: Then select “Wipe Data/Factory Reset”.
Step 9: Select “choose zip from SD card” from the available options.
Step 10: Now select the CM12.zip file and confirm the necessary agree options to finish the installation process.
Step 11: Similarly flash the GoogleApps.zip and then head back to main screen.
Step 12: Now reboot your system by selecting ‘Reboot Now’.
The above process takes couple of minutes may be up to 30min, so be patient till the installation process is completed.
